There is still time to head down to the Mercure Hotel in Two Mile Ash and take a look at some of the opportunities on offer this afternoon (29/6).
The free event is taking place until 2pm.
Young people aged 16-25 who are not yet in employment, education or training are invited to learn about work experience, traineeships and apprenticeships as well as education and local job opportunities.
Created by MK Council, the Young People’s Opportunities Fair brings together 18 organisations from across the city.
Representatives from a wide range of companies, charities and organisations including MK College, The Old School, Acorn Early Years and the Council itself are on hand to speak to young people about opportunities they may have.
MKFM spoke to Mac Heath, Director of Children’s Services at Milton Keynes Council earlier today at the Opportunity Fair: "We've got a fair happening here at the Mercure hotel which helps 16-24 year olds consider opportunities within Milton Keynes. What's great is that I've had the opportunity already to talk about the range of chances and opportunities there are for many of our young people who are just leaving school, perhaps finishing GCSE's, A Levels, back from University and need to consider next steps.
"What's important is that we recognise what a difficult couple of year's it has been for our young people and our students, how well they have done and how resilient they have shown themselves to be but perhaps haven't had the opportunity to see what options are out there for them and this morning I have had the opportunity to talk to some of them, whether it's the Armed services, manufacturing industry, hospitality, early years and childcare settings, all of those opportunities are here to talk to people and help them consider if this is this the opportunity you want to do.
"If you're a young person, or a parent of a young person, it would be great if you were able to get over to the Mercure hotel today."
