Construction has started on the wellbeing lounge at the Cancer Centre at MKUH.
Funding for the project has come solely by people giving to Milton Keynes Hospital Charity and will make a huge difference to local people with cancer and their families.
"The lounge will have a homely feel," said Vanessa Holmes, Associate Director with Milton Keynes Hospital Charity, "Set back from clinical areas, it'll offer a dedicated space for private conversations; somewhere quiet to make a cup of tea, or where peer support groups can meet throughout the year.
"Partnerships and passion have been the two main drivers for this project - from my colleagues in the MKUH cancer services and estates teams to our wonderful donors, fundraisers and project partners, who are really going over and above," she added.
