Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a woman from Milton Keynes has been jailed for more than five years after being convicted of robbery.
Trudy Holland, aged 29, of Florin Close in Milton Keynes, was convicted of one count of robbery following a trial which concluded on Wednesday (10/10).
At around 1am on 21 July 2016, the victim, who was 18 at the time, was walking along Cleavers Avenue in Conniburrow.
As he walked past Holland, he was threatened by her with a syringe and robbed of his phone and wallet.
Holland was arrested on the day of the offence, and following a lengthy investigation, was charged with one count of robbery on 28 November 2017.
In a trial lasting three days at Aylesbury Crown Court, she was convicted and sentenced to five and a half years’ imprisonment.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Katrina Walmsley, based at Bletchley police station, said: “This was an unprovoked and calculated attack and the victim was threatened with a syringe before being made to hand over his belongings.
“The fear that went through the victim’s mind is incalculable, and I would like to extend my thanks to him and his family and witnesses in this investigation.
“Despite the length of the time it has taken to get this matter to court, the victim continued to support the investigation.
“The sentence reflects the crime and highlights that this type of offending will not be tolerated in Milton Keynes.”
