Woman arrested after police officer is injured by dogs in Milton Keynes

Police have been on the scene of an incident in Milton Keynes this evening (Saturday 12 August).

Thames Valley Police officers have attended a fear for welfare incident this evening (12 August) in Fishermead.

"At the scene, two dogs had to be contained in the property after they showed aggression and caused an injury to one of the officers, but the animals were not harmed, and contrary to some rumours circulating locally, no firearms have been discharged," Thames Valley Police say.

"The injured officer is receiving treatment but is expected to make a full recovery.

"The dogs have now been seized to reduce risk to other occupants living nearby, as well as the wider public, while our investigation continues.

"A woman has been arrested on suspicion of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control and she is currently in police custody.

"Police officers remain in the area, and anyone with any questions or concerns is encouraged to speak to them.

"Alternatively, you can call the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1947 (12/8)."
