Woburn Sands reacts to Domino's Pizza news

Residents of Woburn Sands have reacted to news that a new Domino's Pizza store is planned for the High Street.

The planning application for the store, previously occupied by TJ Wines at 1 Station Road, was submitted at the start of December 2016.

Developers have applied for a change of use from a off-licence (Class A1) to a hot food takeaway (Class A5), as well as installation of new extraction/ventilation equipment and external alterations.

Milton Keynes Council has now recommended that planning permission should be offered, in the face of some local opposition.

Responding to the initial application, Cllr Alice Jenkins said: "I have concerns over the lack of appropriate parking for the proposed use, potential impact on traffic on the road and the lack of suitable provision for waste. I would ask that the council refuses the application as a result."

Some residents have also expressed concern that the store is too close to the nearby Fulbrook School. A final decision from Milton Keynes Council is expected soon.

Domino's currently have six stores in Milton Keynes at Bletchley, Oldbrook, Kingston, Oxley Park, Wolverton and Newport Pagnell.
