Willen Hospice is set to open a new shop in Oxley Park this Thursday – giving residents in south-west Milton Keynes a new way to support local hospice care while shopping sustainably.
Located in the heart of Oxley Park local centre, the shop will offer high-quality, preloved items at great value. Customers will be able to browse a range of ladies’ and men’s clothing, as well as homewares, with new stock arriving every day.
Through this new shop, the Hospice aims to create a welcoming, community-focused shopping experience, where it can connect with existing supporters and reach new customers in the area. Everyone is welcome on opening day – Thursday 5 February – from 9.30am.
“This shop brings something fresh to Oxley Park. High‑quality preloved stock, a warm welcome and a clear purpose," said Ian Palmer, Associate Director of Retail at Willen Hospice, "Every item we sell helps fund the care local families rely on. It’s a simple way for people to support their community while shopping sustainably.”
It costs the Hospice £11 million each year to provide its services, with only 12.7% met by ongoing NHS funding. As a registered charity, the Hospice relies heavily on the generosity of its supporters to raise the remaining £9.6 million annually. Every purchase made in the new shop will help fund expert care and support for local people affected by life-limiting illness, ensuring money spent locally stays within the community.
The shop is on Redgrave Drive in Oxley Park local centre, with plenty of free parking available.
The store will be open 9am-5pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am-4pm on Sunday.
If you’d like to get involved in running the new shop, the Hospice is currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers. For more information, pop into the shop, visit willen-hospice.org.uk/volunteer-in-retail or call 01908 306998.
