Police who arrested a man for stealing Pokémon cards from Sainsbury's, took to social media with an amusing run down of the offence and subsequent charge.
'While on hotspot patrols in Central Milton Keynes, our CMK Neighbourhood Officers spotted a man acting more Team Rocket than Pokémon Master,' they wrote.
'His nerves were doing the Poké-shuffle — shaking, sweating, and definitely not calm-ander.
After a quick chat, officers’ suspicions evolved , so they used Section 1 PACE like a trusty TM move.
Wild Pokémon cards appeared!
A brand-new box of cards was found hidden in his jacket — no Poké Ball required.
Nearby, officers discovered a discarded security box that had clearly used Escape outside the shop.
A check with Sainsbury’s confirmed the cards were stolen — turns out shoplifting is not very effective against experienced trainers.'
The offender was remanded to appear at Milton Keyners Magistrates' Court the next morning.
And officers issued a warning for anyone else thinking of taking without purchasing: 'When it comes to crime, we always Pikachu out.'
