Weapon sweeps take place across Milton Keynes while stop and search order is in place

    Weapon sweep in Fullers Slade

Weapon sweeps are continuing to take place following the news that a stop and search order has been issued for the whole borough of Milton Keynes.

Thames Valley Police last night (23/6) enacted a Section 60 following an incident of "violent disorder" in Buckfast Play Park, Bletchley.

There were reports of a group of between 20 and 30 males fighting, armed with bricks and bladed articles.

Six males have been arrested in connection with the incident and a number of weapons have been seized.

The stop and search order, which is the second to have been authorised this week, means that officers can search anybody in the whole borough of Milton Keynes up until 7:30pm today (24/6).

Neighbourhood policing teams are also conducting reassurance patrols and weapon sweeps to maintain police presence.

Yesterday, officers were patrolling Fullers Slade and they were "pleased" to report that no weapons were located during the sweep.
