Watch as police discover a stolen telehandler following burglaries in Milton Keynes villages

    Police have managed to find a stolen Telehandler after it was stolen from a farm near Milton Keynes.

    between 9pm on Tuesday 5th July and 7am on Wednesday 6th July, farm machinery was stolen, including a bright green Merlo 347 Telehandler and a red Honda Quadbike, was stolen from farms in Newton Blossomville and Clifton Reynes.

    Overall, five burglaries took place through the night.

    At 3pm on Wednesday, following a press release from Thames Valley Police, the Rural Crime Taskforce discovered a stolen Telehandler using a drone.

    A spokesperson said: "It is not uncommon for thieves to hide stolen plant at arms length as tracking equipment is becoming more and more prevalent.

    "Our drone trained officers are able to search large areas of land very quickly and on this occasion this telehandler was discovered before the end of the day.

    "More and more items of plant are being recovered thanks to the advances in technology."

    Police are still appealing for witnesses following the burglaries.

    Investigating officer Sergeant Chris Ruff, part of the rural taskforce, said: “I would like to appeal to anybody who may have been in this area during this time or driving past and witnessed anything, or have dash cam footage, to please get in touch.
