Waste collections paused in Milton Keynes due to weather conditions

The waste collection service in Milton Keynes has been suspended due to the weather conditions.

Waste collection services have today (12 December) been suspended due to the icy weather conditions.

Milton Keynes City Council has said the move to suspend services is to protect crews, vehicles and road users.

Households that have been missed should have their rubbish collected tomorrow, dependent on weather conditions.

The City Council says it will be reviewing the weather daily.

Gritters will be out across the city today covering the main roads.

"The gritters were out again over the weekend and will be back out again today covering the main roads and routes into MK. There are over 400 yellow grit bins around residential areas that can be used to spread rock salt onto public roads, footways and redways if needed," Milton Keynes City Council says.

"Drive to the conditions and clear all snow/ice from vehicles before setting off."
