Walton Neighbourhood Plan Referendum announced

Walton Community Council are pleased to announce that the Walton Neighbourhood Plan will proceed to a referendum of all residents on Thursday 17th November.

If adopted both planners and developers will be required to take account of the Walton Neighbourhood Plan when making decisions about potential future development within the area.

Following two resident surveys, more than 15,000 leaflets, 10 consultation events, 290 meetings with local groups and 2,000 voluntary hours, the policies in the Plan reflect the views and opinions of residents, businesses and landowners in Walton.

Stuart Copeland, Resident and Chair of Walton Neighbourhood Plan Working Group said: “The Neighbourhood Plan gives the residents of Walton an opportunity to ensure that their voices are heard when planning decisions are taken – they are the experts of our community after all”

Councillor Philip Chambers, Walton Community Council said: “For the Plan to be adopted it must gain a majority vote at a locally held referendum. We at Walton Community Council urge residents to make their vote count so we can continue to see our Parish flourish and grow in line with our vision for the area”
