Volunteers needed for MK Autumn Run weekend

Organisers of the MK Autumn Run are on the hunt for volunteers to help the events run smoothly.

After a couple of years off, the MK Autumn Run is ready and raring to go in its new format, now a weekend event with the introduction of a few new distances.

Organisers are now after volunteers to help out across the weekend.

Saturday volunteers will volunteer for one race and have the chance to take part in the other. For example, run the 5K and marshal the 10K or visa versa.

Those on Sunday will receive a crew t-shirt, lunch on the day, an MK Autumn Run Coaster and 50% off their next BCS Event.

How does the Autumn Run work?

There will be 4 distances in total over the weekend: the Run it for Willen 5k and MK10K, taking place on Saturday and the MK Autumn Half Marathon and the (#NotLondon) MK Autumn Marathon taking place on Sunday.

So why put on an event on the same weekend as the London Marathon?

We know how important the London Marathon is and what effect it has had on running in the UK, but as you may have heard it is pretty hard to get a place! That’s why when Big Cow Sports discovered a clash, they decided to embrace it!

The events cater to runners of all ability and ages – the 5k can be ran as a family or you can compete against your friends in the MK10K which also features a timed hill climb! If you fancy a slightly longer distance, then the Half Marathon or Marathon options are for you.

A great atmosphere, great support, and a great medal is promised. All events have fully marked, marshalled routes, chip timing with online results, race phots and a goody bag. There is an optional t-shirt which has allowed BCS Events to lower entry price but still offer a souvenir shirt to anyone that wants one.

From the friendly faces of BCS Events and their incredible army of volunteers, the MK Autumn Run is set to be the best it has ever been, in what will be its third year. The event supports two amazing local charities, Samuel’s Charity, and Willen Hospice, in which 25% of the entry fee for the 5k will go towards Willen.

The MK Autumn Run will take place across the weekend of 1st and 2nd October, to enter, support or volunteer just visit the Big Cow Sports website here.
