Mum found messages on teenage daughter’s phone.
A worried parent has contacted MKFM after discovering her 15-year-old daughter has been reading online messages about buying illegal vapes.
The mum, who does not want to be named, said she found the messages on her daughter’s Snapchat app and discovered the seller was arranging to meet underage vape users in the Bodmin Place area of Broughton.
Posting online the mother asked: ‘What can you legally do to a person who sells vapes to minors? One guy sells it to our children in Broughton and I am very concerned’.
She says she went to the meeting place herself to confront the seller but he did not arrive while she was there.
“People tell you to limit your children’s social media use but that is not always easy with a 15-year-old teenager,” said the mum. “I tried to go to the place, behind a restaurant, where the selling is done. I was ready to confront him, but he did not turn up while I was there.”
Thames Valley Police say that crimes can be reported on their website: here, but that they will need details such as an address and date of incident.
Milton Keynes City Council’s Trading Standards also has a website: here, on which to report underage sales and illegal vapes.
