Upgrades on way for Milton Keynes police station

More space, greater technology and new equipment among improvements.

Plans to future proof Central Milton Keynes Police Station, have been approved by MK City Council.

The committee has rubber stamped £90,000 worth of investment to enhance the station’s facilities for Neighbourhood and Response Officers, as well as Contact Management Teams. It will also cover new IT equipment such as body-worn video cameras and go towards new EV chargers for the force’s vehicle fleet.

The cash will come from ‘Section 106’ agreements, which require developers in Milton Keynes to make a financial contribution towards the city’s future, helping to fund projects such as affordable housing, schools, transport improvements, green spaces and community facilities.

It ensures that the growth of Milton Keynes, including new buildings and facilities, benefits the existing community.

“Milton Keynes is known nationally for its high quality growth, and every new development brings investment into essential services through Section 106 agreements,” said Cllr Peter Marland, Leader of Milton Keynes City Council.

“It’s great news that the City Council can help ensure our police force has the resources it needs to improve its facilities. Growth is not just about building homes but investing in our city.”
