UPDATE: B&Q in Milton Keynes was forced to close this morning due to staff's positive COVID-19 result

Following a member of staff testing positive for COVID-19, B&Q's Milton Keynes store was forced to temporarily close - turning away hundreds of customers.

An MKFM reporter attended the scene shortly after 1pm and was advised that there had been "an incident this morning" and that no further information could be provided.

There was a group of staff members positioned at the car park entrance in Rooksley directing customers away from the premises while the site was closing.

It has now been revealed that the store closed due to a positive test result.

A spokesperson for B&Q explained the situation in more detail as they said: "We can confirm that our Milton Keynes store was temporarily closed this morning following a team member receiving a positive (COVID-19) test result.

"Closing the store for a deep clean was a precautionary measure and goes beyond government advice. The store has now re-opened.”
