Upcoming online self-care and community events for Milton Keynes residents

The COVID-19 pandemic has been tough on us all, but you are not alone, many local charities have come together to arrange a host of online events to help you get through the lockdown.

    Winter Wellbeing Webinars

All three Wellbeing (IAPT) services in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes have come together to offer people who live, or work here, a huge range of on-line, live webinars every week to help people stay well over winter.

Whether you or someone you know is stressed, worn-down, or not able to shake off the worry or low mood that this year has brought, there is a webinar to help. The free webinars cover a range of topics including wellbeing whilst working at home, coronavirus and coping with isolation, managing anxiety, mindfulness and sleep.

You can book on yourself without needing to see your GP, you are anonymous in the webinar so won’t need to worry about people seeing you and they are run at different times of the day to suit your schedules. If you or someone who you know might find these helpful, have look at:

    Sharing Art and Us

Sharing Art and Us shines a spotlight on MK Gallery's Inclusive Practice in the Arts programme, designed with and for children with complex support needs and their families, to explore and reflect on its impact.

Drawing together key voices, including programme participants, inclusive arts practitioners, Milton Keynes' social care and education providers and service users, we will share our experiences to date whilst considering how we will increase inclusive practice at MK Gallery.

We will explore how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted children and families, the complexities of transitioning services for young people in Milton Keynes, and consider what is needed now, probably more than ever, to ensure meaningful engagement and a true sense of belonging within the arts and our community. Ageing Well Public Talks

As part of the Ageing Well Public Talk, we are exploring how important it is, over our lifespan, to maintain a well-balanced nutrition and hydration as well as regular physical and social activity in the older age, also known as the 'Five Pillars of Ageing Well'.

As we know we start ageing the moment we are born. It demonstrates more significantly when we reach a certain age, the usual benchmark being 65+, but our ageing starts much sooner and the way ageing demonstrates when we are over 65 depends on decisions we have been making over our life span.
