Rumours have surfaced that a brand new Universal Studios theme park could be opening just 20 minutes away from Milton Keynes.
Rumours have started circulating that a Universal Studios theme park could be opening just down the road in BEDFORD, after it was revealed that the domain names UniversalStudiosGreatBritain.com and UniversalGreatBritain.com were registered in September by Comcast and NBC.
Reports are also claiming that roughly 500 acres of land has been purchased in Bedfordshire.
The Sun has also reported that coincidentally this year, Comcast also took a controlling stake in a construction and development company, Cloud Wing UK, who are reportedly owners of a brownfield site in Kempston Hardwick, Bedford.
A quarterly financial report from September reveals that £214m has been spent on the company “associated with the acquisition of land for potential theme park expansion".
Since MKFM's report on Tuesday, Universal Studios have confirmed plans for its first UK attraction.
Speaking to Sky News, a Universal destinations and experiences spokesperson confirmed that the company has "acquired land" and is "at the early stages of exploring its feasibility for a potential park and resort at this site".
"It will be many months before we are ready to make a decision to proceed and we look forward to engaging with all relevant stakeholders and the local community," they added.
Fans have been getting excited about the rumours on social media, with many working to piece together information on the potential theme park.

"500 acres of land in Bedford have been purchased by the company with an expected opening before the end of the decade!"
