Milton Keynes’s manufacturers have been asked to showcase their capabilities at Advanced Engineering 2017, the UK’s largest engineering exhibition this November.
Last year Milton Keynes was in the top 10 for visitors and exhibitors with an “advanced engineering impact” score of 4727.
Organisers say the city has a real chance to better its position of 10th, where it finished narrowly behind Belfast. Last year over 100 engineers from the area visited the show, with many Milton Keynes engineering companies also exhibiting, including leading firms such as Milton Keynes Pressings.
Alison Willis, industrial divisional director at Easyfairs, said: “We’re very excited about this year’s exhibition. As well as having a new Connected Manufacturing zone, we will bring together the latest advances in engineering, covering innovations, new developments and vital information; and driving efficiency and profitability to enable UK manufacturers to compete and grow in an ever-competitive global market.
“Manufacturers from Milton Keynes put on a real show of strength last year and demonstrated the fantastic range of capabilities and amazing innovations the area has to offer when it comes to advanced engineering. This year we’re hoping they’ll surpass themselves whilst showcasing their expertise to a primed audience of motivated and ready to buy attendees interested in sourcing products and solutions!”
Phil Brown of Milton Keynes Pressings said: “Milton Keynes has a huge manufacturing base, which produces strong representation at the Advanced Engineering Show. I urge any engineers in the area to exhibit or visit. Come along and see what we have to offer.”
Organised by Easyfairs, Advanced Engineering 2017, which takes place on the 1-2 November at the NEC Birmingham, is the UK's largest annual gathering of advanced engineering professionals. It connects the entire supply chain of the UK’s advanced engineering industry with R&D, design, test, production and procurement from large and small companies, through to top tier industry players in a two-day free to attend exhibition and high level conference.
Now in its 9th year, the show has record breaking visitor numbers, bringing together over 700 firms, as well as more than 13,000 engineers, procurement managers and senior decision makers from large and small companies - all looking to source, specify and invest in the most up-to-date products and explore the latest industry innovations.
Advanced Engineering 2017 includes five co-located zones under one roof: Aero Engineering, Composites Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Performance Metals Engineering - and new for 2017, Connected Manufacturing which focuses on Industry 4.0.
