Two virus linked-deaths announced in Milton Keynes today, the first in over two weeks

    There were 15 cases and two virus-linked deaths recorded in Milton Keynes today, ending the positive 18-day streak.

    The COVID-19 data brings the total number of people tested positive in Milton Keynes since the start of the pandemic to 19,907 - of which 83 were in the past seven days.

    The 7-day case rate, or infection rate, in Milton Keynes has fallen from 39.7 per 100,000 people yesterday to 37.5 cases per 100,000 people today.

    This is below the national average, which stands at 39 cases per 100,000 people.

    Nationally, there were an additional 2,763 people tested positive today with 45 deaths within 28 days of a positive test.

    Two of these deaths took place in Milton Keynes, meaning the city's total COVID-linked death toll stands at 463 since the start of the pandemic. 

    Prior to this, Milton Keynes had gone 18 days without a virus-linked death being reported in the city.
