At around 11am earlier this morning (05/06), a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Luton which is expected to cause delays to traffic heading towards Milton Keynes.
Two lanes have been temporarily closed on the M1 Northbound from Junction 11 A505 (Dunstable South/Luton) and Junction 11A A5 (Dunstable/Luton North).
Officers for Bedfordshire are reported to be on the scene responding to the incident as it unfolds.
Traffic was briefly held while the lanes were being cordoned off. Four cars and a van remain stationary in the coned off area.
It is estimated that this incident has caused delays of around 50 minutes above the normal journey time for the day.
Local drivers are advised to take caution and allow for extra time when making a journey in the area.
12:38pm UPDATE: All lanes have reopened following the road traffic collision. Delays are now reported to be around 30 minutes but are expected to clear shortly.
