The Milton Keynes music community is mourning the loss of Tracy Walters, who passed away peacefully on Saturday.
In a post, his family wrote of the popular frontman, ‘Tracy was a man who lived life with music in his heart, kindness in his soul, and an endless willingness to help others.’
Tracy was born in Leighton Buzzard, and later moved to New Bradwell where he became a fixture of the local music scene, playing with many bands, including The T-Bone Boogie Band.
‘His creativity extended beyond the stage from community art projects to busking in the streets, and even working as a skilled tree surgeon. Tracy’s life was rich with colour, adventure, and connection,’ his family said.
‘Tracy was a family man, the loving husband of Tina, proud and devoted father to Nicola and Germaine, proud father in law, to Richard & David, adoring Pops to his four beautiful granddaughters, and cherished great-grandfather to three precious great-grandchildren, A brother, uncle and friend…
‘He will live on in the hearts of his family and will forever be remembered for his music, his generosity, his style, his gentle spirit, his love of long conversations, books and interest in the people and world around him. Tracy leaves a lifetime of beautiful memories, and the streets, the stages, and the hearts he touched will continue to echo with his legacy for years to come.
Rest in peace, Tracy — you will be forever missed, always loved and your music plays on.’
Music fans and associates across Milton Keynes and beyond have taken to social media to pay tribute, ’Such a great man, so encouraging of anyone playing music live and a great performer himself,’ wrote one.
Another said Tracy was, ‘One in a million, there will never be another.’
