Tributes paid to MK Snap learner Isimapeme Ivowi who has sadly passed away after coronavirus battle

Tributes have been paid to local MK Snap learner Isimapeme Ivowi who has sadly passed away after a battle with coronavirus.

MK Snap, who are a Milton Keynes based charity providing life skills, education and work training for adults with learning disabilities, shared the news on their social media page earlier.

The charity said: "It is with great sadness that we share the news that one of our learners, Isimapeme Ivowi, affectionately known as ‘Isi’ has passed away."

"Isi was a gentle, happy and well-loved learner at MK SNAP for many years."

"Known for his big smiles and warm handshakes, Isi was loved by all who knew him and was a treasured friend of MK SNAP."

"Following a battle with COVID19 and despite the best care from colleagues at Milton Keynes Hospital, Isi could not be saved and passed peacefully."

"Our deepest condolences and heartfelt wishes go to Isi’s family at this incredibly difficult time, who are bravely bearing this as a second dreadful loss following the earlier passing of another family member over the Easter weekend."

"Isi will always be remembered and missed by all of us at MK SNAP; where he spent many happy days."

Since the post, hundreds of members of the public have paid their respects to Isi on social media.

Hilary Clarke posted: "Isi was a popular student at Milton Keynes College where I had the pleasure of working with him for several years. RIP. Condolences to his devoted family."

Jesita Patel added: "Really really sad to hear about Isi’s passing. He absolutely adored Groovy Gecko and never wanted to leave! Will always remember him and his kind heart. RIP Isi."

Allison Devaney said: "In total shock to hear about Isi, such a wonderful character, Lauren says he had lots of awesome dance moves. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family at such a very difficult time."

MKFM's Michael Blades spoke to the CEO of MK Snap Angie Novell about how the charity is coping during the coronavirus period - you can listen again to the podcast here. The interview took place before today's sad news was announced.
