Work on the development is expected to start in early 2022 and finish mid-2024.

The Avebury Boulevard site opposite Xscape used to be home to a Wyvale garden centre before closing down 15 years ago.

A 330-apartment high quality major residential block is now set to take its place with work starting at the beginning of next year.

Milton Keynes-based developer Abbeygate who worked with Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP), facilitated the £80m deal.

MKDP Property Development Director Matthew Green said: “We are delighted that the project is going to be starting in the New Year. The funder’s aspirations were very clear and their substantial investment in Central Milton Keynes demonstrates their shared belief in the future of the City Centre.”

Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP) is owned by Milton Keynes Council.

The role of MKDP is to develop and grow stakeholder relationships with investors, developers, occupiers and others to provide a fair playing field conducive to conducting professional property business. It is operated by a specialist team who report to MKDP's board and MK Council.
