Traffic light junction to replace roundabout by new Milton Keynes housing estate

There will be a traffic light junction installed in replacement of a roundabout outside a newly developed housing estate.

This replacement will be taking place along the H4 Dansteed Way, at the junction of Randall Avenue in Whitehouse.

A temporary roundabout was built at the junction two years ago to help traffic flow, but now Milton Keynes Council has said it will be progressing forward with its original plan of making it a signalised junction.

This is because the local authority expects traffic to drastically increase over the next two decades, in line with the planned development of the Western Expansion Area.

And now that the Whitehouse development is nearing completion, Milton Keynes Council will be starting work to signalise the junction in August and expect it to be complete by October.

In addition, a new pedestrian crossing will be created, and bus stops will be relocated from their current positions.

During the works, Dansteed Way will be closed between Crownhill and Randall Avenue roundabouts, and the Crematorium will be accessed from Crownhill roundabout.
