On Wednesday 10 July 2019, three solicitors from Tollers Solicitors in Northampton will be riding from London to Paris in just 48 hours, a distance of 300 miles, to raise much needed funds for Cransley Hospice.
The Three intrepid cyclists are Roger Reed (a senior associate from the Personal Injury Department), Duncan Nicholson (Managing Partner of the firm) and Tristan Benson (a Partner and Head of the Dispute Resolution Team).
The ride is 100% funded and planned by the firm so that every single penny raised will go to Cransley Hospice. The hospice is a local charity based in Kettering, Northamptonshire providing specialist care for patients with life limiting illnesses. As with many hospice’s, Cransley simply cannot operate without the help of donations from the public.
Tollers are delighted to be supporting Cransley. In return for the 900 collective miles that Roger, Duncan and Tristan will ride in just 48 hours, they are trying to raise around £3,000 for the hospice.
It is not common to ride the route in 48hrs. Ordinarily organisers of London to Paris cycle challenges plan for them to take place over 3 or even 4 days. This will be a test of the trio’s stamina and determination, but they are more than up for the challenge having trained hard for the last few months, with many lunchtime rides, cycling events and sportifs under the belts.
The team are now bike fit and ready for their challenge. They will start their journey from Central London in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday 10th July 2019, they plan to ride to Dover, where they will catch a well-earned rest on the ferry over to France and once they arrive they plan to continue on their journey to Hesdin in Northern France where they will rest for the night. On the morning of Thursday 11th June the trio will once again get on their bikes and ride the final 150 mile leg of the journey to Paris, with the Arc De Triomphe as their ultimate destination.
