Thursday’s Coronavirus Update: 68 new cases recorded and one hospital death announced in Milton Keynes today

    There were 68 positive coronavirus cases recorded and one hospital death announced in Milton Keynes on Thursday, according to data from Public Health England.

    This takes the total number of positive cases to 3,992 since the pandemic began.

    Nationally, 14,879 cases were recorded today and a further 414 deaths.

    NHS data says that sadly one hospital death was recorded today - this patient died on 1st December. 

    This takes the total number of deaths in all settings, including care homes and the hospital, across the borough to 143.

    People are being admitted to Milton Keynes University Hospital for COVID-19 daily.

    It is important to follow lockdown rules and coronavirus prevention measures to minimise the spread of COVID-19.

    The rolling infection rate in Milton Keynes is currently 137 per 100,000 people. 

    MKFM previously stopped reporting on coronavirus cases due to the lack of testing, and possible misrepresentation of cases within the community, but now that there are more tests available we have decided to provide frequent updates. 

    We provide the data given to us by Public Health England, and unfortunately this does not cover the number of people who have recovered/left hospital.
