Thunderstorm warning issued for Milton Keynes tomorrow

    Thunderstorms and heavy showers may bring travel disruption to parts of England tomorrow, the Met Office says.

    The Met Office has issued a thunderstorm warning across parts of England, including Milton Keynes. The yellow weather warning is in place between 9am and 7pm on Wednesday 2nd August.

    Heavy showers and thunderstorms are predicted.

    People being urged to plan ahead as travel disruption is expected. 

    "Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected during Wednesday," a spokesperson for the Met Office explains.

    "Where they do develop they could be slow-moving and persistent with as much as 20-25 mm of rain falling within an hour and possibly 40 mm in 2-3 hours in a few places."

    Lightning and hail could also affect people in the city.

    The weather warning comes as temperatures are set to remain in the high teens across Milton Keynes for the rest of this week and beginning of next, with low temperatures of low to mid 20s predicted from Friday 11th.
