Three new coronavirus cases in MK as UK sees highest number of daily cases in over a month

Three new coronavirus cases have been reported in Milton Keynes today, on the same day that the UK as a whole saw its largest number of new infections in over a month.

876 positive coronavirus cases have now been recorded in the Borough of Milton Keynes, up from 873 yesterday.

Across the UK, there were a total of 846 new cases today - the highest number since June 27th.

Meanwhile, 38 additional coronavirus deaths were recorded across the UK today.

The news comes as Boris Johnson warned that coronavirus is "bubbling up" in up to 30 areas across the UK.

Mr Johnson said Britons have to be wary of a "really damaging second wave".

"It's absolutely vital as a country we continue to keep our focus and our discipline and that we don't delude ourselves that somehow we're out of the woods or that this is all over because it isn't all over" he warned.

The places with the highest case rates per 100,000 people according to NHS Digital's latest data are Blackburn with Darwen (85.3), Leicester (57.7), Oldham (53.1), Bradford (44.9) and Trafford (39.3).
