Fire crews have confirmed that an electrical fire was the cause of the evacuation of IKEA Milton Keynes this morning.
Bucks Fire and Rescue were called to the Bletchley store on Bletcham Way at around 10.35am this morning.
The superstore was evacuated with shoppers reporting seeing multiple fire engines on site.
One appliance and fire crew from Great Holm, one from Bletchley and one from Broughton attended, along with an officer.
The fire was out when the crews arrived and had been contained to a single room on the second floor of a two story commercial building.
Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera, and liaised with an onsite electrical engineer before giving the all-clear.
