The Stables MK celebrates its 51st birthday

The iconic local theatre and live music venue is asking for donations towards their #SaveOurVenues campaign as they celebrate the anniversary of its founding back in 1970

Throughout the course of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, live music and theatre venues have been among some of the hardest-hit industrial sectors. During the multiple national lockdowns, these entertainment venues have had to close - some for good due to a sharp decline in attendance figures.

In order for these venues to survive the coming months, many are relying solely on donations from generous members of the public. The historic Milton Keynes venue is one such venue as they desperately need the funds to maintain a small skeleton crew to deal with the cancellation, rescheduling and promotion of events.

On their Facebook page, The Stables MK urged members of the public to donate as they posted: "We are celebrating our 51st Birthday today at The Stables MK.

"We are proud to be a part of Milton Keynes and it's culture.

"We want to thank everyone who has supported The Stables during 2020. With this latest lockdown forecast to be in place for a few months, we know that music venues like us are going to face more tough times ahead.

"So if you are also able to support our ongoing #SaveOurVenues campaign which the Music Venue Trust  helped to set up, you can still donate to The Stables directly on our crowdfunding site."
