Men living in Milton Keynes looking for mental health support can meet in a new 'safe space' which has started in the city.

'The Man Cave' is a mental health support group which has launched in Milton Keynes, offering a non-judgmental space for lads in the city to meet and talk.

The group has been launched by local man Scott Poulter, who says the response to the launch has been 'incredible'.

Scott started the Man Cave after struggling with his mental health on holiday, upon his return he wanted to attend a support group. While researching, Scott saw there wasn't a current group in Milton Keynes which offered a space for men to talk.

Unlike other support groups that Scott had attended previously, he wanted The Man Cave to open up the discussion on mental health as a whole, instead of specialising in one thing.

The Man Cave takes place every Monday evening in Central Milton Keynes after Scott was kindly given a free space by local creative tech company Aiimi Ltd.

“I struggled with addiction and mental health for years and know what value opening up and sharing holds and it’s something I need to continue to do for my own recovery," Scott told MKFM.

"I am so proud I have partnered with such an amazing company who has offered us the space to allow the men of Milton Keynes to come along and share their struggles in a safe and non-judgmental environment. The response has been incredible and so I want to thank everyone for their support!”

Since its launch, The Man Cave has received a wave of support from people across the city.

'Good one lads, this is brilliant,' one resident has responded.

Another said: 'Wonderful to see! Men being able to share their emotions is so important'

The Man Cave takes place every week between 6:30 and 8pm, you can find out more or contact them on their Facebook page.
