The Parks Trust annouce temporary closure of Milton Keynes BMX track

Local independent charity has recently announced the temporary closure of the Pineham BMX track while maintenance work is being carried out.

The Park Trust is a local independent charity that cares for over 6,000 acres of parkland and green space in Milton Keynes. This includes the river valleys, ancient woodlands, lakesides, parks and landscaped areas alongside the main roads that represent 25% of the city.

In a statement released earlier today (08/05), a spokesperson for The Parks Trust said: "Please be aware that the Pineham BMX Track is still closed whilst resurfacing work is being carried out.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused whilst this essential repair work takes place."

The track is expected to be closed from Tuesday 4th May to Tuesday 18th May will essential maintenance is carried out.

The BMX course in question recently received a significant investment in April 2017 that improved the track’s jumps and make it a more challenging course for the serious rider.

The improvements included rerouting and resurfacing the track to ensure it works better for the rider. Tarmac was added to the corners for added grip, with better drainage to the course and new ramp positions. The number and height of jumps and slopes have also increased.

The Parks Trust remind local riders that they are not responsible for any damages or injuries sustained while using or visiting the track. For less experienced BMX riders, there is a beginner's level track available for use at Stanton Low Park.
