New Bradwell canal-side pub The New Inn is celebrating its first anniversary under the ownership of the Claxton family.
Since taking over the pub, the family has carefully restored its traditional pub charm while elevating its dining offering.
The response from locals and visitors alike has been totally positive, with the pub receiving more than 140 five-star reviews in just 12 months.
Built shortly before the Bradwell Windmill, the watering-hole has been at hte heart of the community for more than 200 years, since 1804.
Overseeing the kitchen today is Head Chef, Michael Hayes, whose culinary expertise has been instrumental in the pub’s success.
“A large portion of our five-star reviews are down to Michael’s incredible culinary skills. His passion, consistency and creativity have continued to transform our food offering and the feedback has been phenomenal,” said landlord Oliver Claxton.
Beyond the kitchen, The New Inn continues to draw crowds with its impressive scenic beer garden overlooking the canal, which is a tranquil setting that becomes a vibrant hub during the warmer months.
This summer promises even more reasons to visit, as the pub prepares to host Football World Cup celebrations inside the venue for the first time in many years, inviting the community to come together and cheer on the home nations in a lively, family-friendly atmosphere.
“We wanted to honour the history of The New Inn while creating something that feels fresh, welcoming and community-focused,” Oliver added, “Seeing familiar faces return, meeting new guests, and reading such positive reviews has meant everything to us as a family-run business.
As The New Inn marks its milestone anniversary, the Claxton family is inviting residents across the new city to join them in celebrating a year of transformation and to continue supporting a local, family-led pub committed to bringing people together through great food, warm hospitality and that all important community spirit.
