Milton Keynes is expected to be affected by thunderstorms between 12pm on Friday and 9am on Saturday.

These storms will follow the exceptionally hot weather that we have experienced here in Milton Keynes - with temperatures getting up to 31°.

The Met Office has issued the yellow weather warning as the storms may cause disruption and potential flooding in some places.

Some affected areas across the South East, including Milton Keynes, could experience torrential downpours of 30-50mm rain in an hour with hail and lightning.

When flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services. Roads also may become cut off if they flood, so residents are advised to leave extra time if travelling this weekend.
