Helping rough sleepers get off the streets, from homelessness to hope.
The Bus Shelter MK has bought a double decker bus, fitted out to provide year-round temporary shelter for up to 16 people.
Until recently the bus toured Europe with Robbie Williams, Rod Stewart and Disney on Ice.
The Bus Shelter MK have bought the bus with a £5,000 donation from intu Milton Keynes, ward councillor grants and community fund raising. They now need £20,000 to become fully operational with separate toilet, shower and laundry facilities, so they can welcome their first residents before Winter 2017.
As well as a safe place to sleep, The Bes Shelter MK offers:
- Kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities
- Support to deal with background issues
- Shelter for pet dogs
- Help to find more permanent housing
- Assistance to find employment
