The areas in Milton Keynes where coronavirus cases are rising and falling the fastest

There is a huge difference in the coronavirus rate in different parts of Milton Keynes, with some areas seeing drops in their rates whilst others see jumps.

Milton Keynes was placed into Tier 4 restrictions on Sunday 20th December, before being put into a national lockdown on Monday 4th January.

We've taken a look at the areas where rates are falling and rising the quickest by comparing the seven-day case rate in each area for the week ending 7th January, in comparison to the previous seven-day period.

The area with the biggest fall in cases was Great Linford and Giffard Park, which has seen a drop of 43.3% in its number of coronavirus cases. The infection rate is still high however and now stands at 517.8 cases per 100,000 people with 34 new cases in the most recent seven day period.

Other areas with big drops include:

    1. Two Mile Ash - the case rate has dropped by 41.5% to 697.5 cases per 100,000 people with 38 new cases in the most recent seven day period

    2. Woughton and Woolstone - the case rate has dropped by 41% to 517.9 cases per 100,000 people with 46 new cases in the most recent seven day period

    3. Tattenhoe and Emerson Valley - the case rate has dropped by 40.2% to 553.1 cases per 100,000 people with 52 new cases in the most recent seven day period

It's important to note that even in these areas, the case rate remains incredibly high even though it has fallen. People should still take precautions and follow the 'Stay at Home' guidance.

At the other end of the scale, the area with the biggest rise in cases is Denbigh, which has seen a big jump of 52.8% in its number of coronavirus cases. The infection rate now stands at 1,372.6 cases per 100,000 people with 110 new cases in the most recent seven day period.
