Taylor Wimpey staff become pen pals with local care home residents

Taylor Wimpey South Midlands has teamed up with the Lakeview Lodge Care Home in Bletchley for a pen pal initiative.

Ten of Taylor Wimpey South Midlands’ sales executives volunteered to take part and have been writing to the residents during the coronavirus pandemic. They have been letting each other know about their hobbies and interests, and how they have been coping during these unprecedented times.

Clare Hedge, Home Manager at Lakeview Lodge, said: “We are very thankful to the Taylor Wimpey staff for volunteering their time to write letters to our residents. Many of our residents haven’t been able to see their family and friends for many months, so having a pen pal has certainly lifted their spirits.”

Taylor Wimpey South Midlands has also donated a number of protective face masks, gloves, disposable protective aprons, as well as puzzles, board games and books to Lakeview Lodge Care Home and Burlington Court Care Home in Northampton.
