Summer kicks off at MK50 Summer Festival

Wolverton is set to celebrate Milton Keynes’ 50th year at its brand new Summer Festival.

On Sunday the 25th June, Wolverton’s Western Road Recreation Ground will be transformed into a three stage performance festival with live acts on from 14:00-20:00. Entrance into the festival is completely free.

The event created to celebrate 50 years of Milton Keynes through live music and performance hopes to bring the local community together through a day of celebration. Acts have been selected from across the local area including The Voice Kids superstar Brooke Layla and swingin’ sixties Beatles tribute act – The Ultimate Beatles. The festivities will begin at 14:00 with an interactive drumming performance from popular band – Inta Africa.

Wolverton’s iconic band stand will be used on the day as a community stage and hub for street performers and will be situated next to the Square and the Triangle stages.

There’s fun for all the family with John Scarrot and Sons Fun Fair as well as inflatable games from RS Events. MK50 crafts will be taking place in the craft tent supported by local charity – Harry’s Rainbow.  Food vendors and stall holders from across the local area will also be in attendance giving the audience plenty of chance to keep refreshed during the day.

Wolverton’s MK50 Summer Festival welcomes all to bring a picnic blanket and enjoy the summer sunshine on Sunday 25th June. Like @WolvertonSummerFestival on Facebook to find out more.
