Successful Milton Keynes business serves up tea and tradition from new location

Popular Stony Stratford business Miss Havishams Tearooms marked its recent move with an official opening on Saturday.

Established in 2012, the shop has moved from its original premises in Timor Court to the High Street, where business continues with the same style and service, but on a larger scale.

The new location means greater accessibility for customers to enjoy its range of breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas.

“We still have the same vintage feel, old school tea room, and retro music,” said owner Kate Fuszard, “In Timor Court, accessibility meant that it wasn't feasible for everyone to visit. The move means we are able to welcome even more people.”

The relocation has increased capacity significantly – previously offering seating for 16 people, Miss Havishams can now cater for almost 60 diners.

Miss Havishams takes its name from a character in the Charles Dickens' classic Great Expectations, and each of its spaces takes influence from the novel's setting and characters.

The author was a visitor to Stony Stratford and would undoubtedly be pleased by the business, which promises it caters 'for those with great expectations.'

“We pride ourselves on our customer service, and people who visit us love the music, the staff and the experience, which is something a little bit different,” Kate added.
