Students celebrated at Graduation ceremony

    MK College students have had their achievements applauded at the Colleges’ graduation ceremony, held at The Sculpture Gallery, Woburn.

    With over 300 people in attendance, students who have been participating in Higher Education courses and apprenticeship with businesses from across MK, were celebrated.

    With employers who had sponsored the graduating apprenticeship students ranging from the MK Dons to Universal Hair Studio to Cranfield University and the Transport System Catapult, a real range of qualifications were recognised.   

    At the same ceremony, Roger Bowden, the Chief Executive of MK based Nifty Lifts and Jan Flawn CBE, Chair of Bletchley base PJ Care were awarded Honorary Fellowships of Milton Keynes College. Both have been firm supporters of the College for some time and have shown real business leadership in Milton Keynes.

    Both businesses employs over 500 people in MK and this includes a number of apprenticeships.

    Julie Mills, MK College Chief Executive said: “It’s brilliant to see more and more employers recognising the positive contribution apprentices make. They tell us regularly that apprentices make their workplace more productive and their business more competitive.

    “We’re delighted to support so many of MK’s best businesses with their apprenticeship programme and it was so inspiring to see our apprentices graduate on the day.”
