A full closure has been put in place between Junction 16 and Junction 15A (Northampton) due to a serious collision.
All M1 traffic near Milton Keynes this morning (25/8), will be delayed due to a full closure northbound and southbound from Junction 16 to Junction 15 A after a serious collision.
National Highways warn that this is likely to be closed for most of the day.
Motorists are being told to consider an alternate route when travelling and plan for delays.
UPDATE 06:37- There is approximately 5 miles of congestion.
UPDATE 07:39- National Highways: "Police are just starting again to let traffic exit at J16 southbound. there's significant traffic on the approach though so it isn't going to clear quickly."
UPDATE 14:00- J15A to J16 northbound has fully reopened after an earlier incident. The southbound is still closed and will likely remain closed until 1700. Thank you for your patience.
