Stony Stratford high street to be turned into huge art gallery

‘Gallery Live’ 2023 is in its second year and will again be taking over Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes to create one huge gallery space on the High Street.

Gallery Live are delighted to include even more participating shops, a fantastic selection of artists in our portfolio and several more mini events to its program this year.

Gallery Live, established in the spring of 2022 and launched as part of Stony Live in June 2022 with one mission to take over the High Street and turn it into one big gallery.

Sixteen local artists were selected from an open call or invitation, the criteria being that they must all work collaboratively, sharing knowledge and experience, media coverage and technical support on the install day.

Following the events success, Gallery Live is back in Stony Stratford from tomorrow.

‘Collections’ – a joint exhibition by Annabelle Shelton and Debra Danu Mathews will be held at the PopUp gallery inside Café Latte

Debra Danu Mathews is an accomplished artist, Art Consultant, and founder of Gallery Live who lives in Stony Stratford. Debra created the unique idea to showcase art that logistically benefits both artists and high street footfall.

Motivated to create this event by the loss of many independent galleries and visible roadmap for emerging and less experienced artists she created this initially as a one-off event which grew into an ongoing window that offers artists a monthly showcase on the High Street and now what has become an annual event.

Within the first year, Debra and Gallery Live have been nominated in two categories for the Milton Keynes Inspiration Awards, quite an achievement in such a short time.

Visitors to the events will be able to follow the trail with a map, navigate themselves to each artwork and artist’s information, and be given the opportunity to buy original work, postcards, or prints.

Over the 10-day period, there will be one changeover of artwork in our gallery, Art tours, private view events, artist demonstrations, school art trails and Meet the Maker
