Statement from MK Theatre after Milton Keynes placed in Tier 3

Milton Keynes Theatre have today (17/12) released a statement following the government's announcement of Milton Keynes being placed under tier 3 restrictions from 19/12.

A spokesperson from Milton Keynes Theatre says, "We are busy reviewing the government's latest Tier announcement today and the impact it has on our venue and our socially-distanced panto, Sleeping Beauty."

"We can confirm today we will not be able to go ahead with performances between this weekend and 10 January. We are working on further update for all ticket holders and will share this as soon as we are able to."

"We’d like to thank our customers for their patience and amazing support."

The socially-distanced panto, supported by The National Lottery, was warmly received by the local community with fast ticket sales signaling a hunger for the return of live entertainment and the beloved festive tradition.

The show starring Lee Mead, Claire Sweeney and Suzanne Shaw would have opened this Saturday 19th December at Milton Keynes Theatre, after the cast and crew had worked so hard to ensure the performance was COVID-secure.
