Shopping centre in Milton Keynes offers small businesses chance to win rent-free space

Midsummer Place, in Central Milton Keynes, is offering small business owners the chance to win rent-free space.

Midsummer Place is home to big name fashion and beauty brands, independent retailers, unique street food eateries and so much more. It is now offering businesses the exciting opportunity to join them.

The competition, which could be life changing to business owners, gives local small business owners the chance to take their brand further by opening a store for six weeks, completely rent-free.

It is all part of the launch of the Hatch initiative.

Businesses will have until 2 May to submit their applications, which will then be reviewed. Chosen businesses will then have the chance to pitch their business to a of judges later in May.

The winner will then have the chance to open a store later this year. Midsummer Place says "As well as winning prime retail space and benefiting from the centre’s footfall, the winner will also receive marketing support from Midsummer Place to further build awareness of their business."

Shelley Peppard, general manager at Midsummer Place, said: “We’re delighted to be running the Hatch initiative for the first time, as we firmly believe this competition offers businesses in the region a fantastic chance to expand and grow.

“We’d love to hear from small businesses looking to take their business to the next level. Midsummer Place is the perfect place to build brand awareness and our team will be on hand to help throughout the process. We can’t wait to hear from the local budding entrepreneurs!”
