If you can’t wait for pancake day, you might like to make tracks to Rodeos BBQ in Stoke Goldington this Sunday, when they host the UK national pancake stacking championships.
The flipping great fun will begin at 11am, when pancake enthusiasts from across the country will compete to stack the tallest, most stable tower of pancakes in just 30 seconds.
“This is a fantastic new event for pancake lovers and a fun way to celebrate Olney’s pancake heritage,” said the event organisers, “We can’t wait to see who rises to the challenge and stacks their way to victory!”
The competition format will consist of four initial rounds, with the winners of each advancing to the semi-finals.
The top four finalists will then battle it out in the grand finale, where one contestant will be crowned UK Pancake Stacking Champion 2026.
The champion will be awarded a specially commissioned Pancake Trophy, presented by the Chairperson of the Olney Pancake Race.
Spectators are encouraged to join the festivities and cheer on the competitors at Rodeos BBQ, which is also sponsoring Tuesday’s famous Olney Pancake Race.
