RSPCA seeks local 'paw-fect match' for Solo the Staffie

The local RSPCA are on a mission to find the 'paw-fect match' for a senior Staffie who has been in care for almost 300 days with no interest from any potential adopters.

Staff at Blackberry Farm Animal Centre, in Buckinghamshire, can’t understand why nobody wants to adopt the lovable boy.

Deputy manager Paula Flitney said: “Solo is starting to feel as though there is a rain cloud following him around everywhere he goes because nobody seems to want to give him a home."

“But our staff are trying our best to shield him from the rain and show him that the world can be a wonderful place."

“He’s such a sweet dog and we simply can’t understand why nobody has shown any interest in him.”

The 10-year-old came into the charity’s care with a terrible skin condition after his owners could no longer pay for his treatment any more.

His skin is now much better and he’s more than ready to find a home to call his own and a family to keep him company.

In a bid to find him the paw-fect home, Solo will be leading the way at the centre’s sponsored walk on June 25 at Waddesdon Manor.

“Solo will be the star of the day and is hoping to raise money for the RSPCA while also looking out for a new family,” Paula added.

“He’d like people to support him by sponsoring him and sharing his photo so he can try to find a new home!"

“And we’d love to see lots of dogs and their owners taking part and helping us to continue doing the vital work that we do.”

The super Staffie gets on well with other dogs but would like to be the only dog in a new home and cannot live with cats. He could live with older children who can play with him as he loves a game of fetch.

He needs new owners who can spend time with him teaching him that it’s okay to be left alone and that life isn’t scary.

For more information about Solo, please visit the RSPCA website or contact Blackberry Farm on 0300 123 0752.

Solo’s sponsored walk, which is four miles long, will take place at 10.30am on June 25 at Waddesdon Manor. It costs £10 per family to enter or sponsorship money. If you could support Solo, please go online: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Paula-flitney.
