Rising international star Yoon-Hee Kim to debut in MK with City Orchestra

Violinist Yoon-Hee Kim will perform with Milton Keynes City Orchestra, at The Venue MK on Friday 2nd November 2018 at 7.30 under the baton of MKCO Music Director Damian Iorio.

Violinist Yoon-Hee Kim will perform Vaughan Williams The Lark Ascending and Saint-Saens Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso.

The concert, sponsored by MK Council, will open with Schumann’s Overture Scherzo and Finale and close with the magnificent Beethoven Symphony No.7. The Lark Ascending is undoubtedly one of the most popular pieces in classical repertoire and is the Orchestra’s centrepiece in recognition of World War I.

Vaughan Williams is said to have composed it while watching British troops embarking for France, so it is fitting that’s its meditational qualities should occupy our senses in the month that war is commemorated.

As a child star, Yoon-Hee Kim made her first orchestral debut at the age of five in 1996 with the Savaria Orchestra of Hungary after playing from the age of three. She was admitted to the Vienna University for Music at the age of four, as the youngest student ever, within a year she had already performed many public concerts.

Austrian-Korean born Yoon-Hee was performing on the world stage throughout her teenage years with many world-famous orchestras and conductors. In Korea, she performed with all major orchestras including the Seoul Philharmonic, KBS Symphony Orchestra and Korean Symphony and internationally with notable companies including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in the UK. She has won several international competitions in Italy, Austria and across the world.
Yoon-Hee Kim was described as a Violinist of Genius in a special CNN programme and the International Media adores her performances.

“The profundity of her emotions impresses much more than her technical perfection. Her Performance connects virtuosity, energy and passion.”
