Unique children’s charity to hold raffle for business community.
A prize raffle will form the centrepiece of the next Meet of MK networking event this month.
But it’s not any old prize draw – this is an important fundraising effort for a valuable local children’s charity, Ride High.
Loughton-based Ride High transforms the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children in Milton Keynes’ community by teaching them to ride and care for horses, supported by a tailored education programme.
Time spent with the horses promotes confidence, responsible behaviour, respect, trust and positive mental wellbeing. It provides children with a challenge, the opportunity to do something special and to develop a sense of pride as they overcome challenges.
In a safe, secure and nurturing environment the charity’s club leaders and volunteers work with the children to build their confidence, resilience and self-worth, giving them the best possible chance of a brighter future.
Increasing numbers of young people are struggling with poor mental health triggered by a variety of causes including poverty, trauma, abuse and neglect. Ride High currently has over 150 children on its waiting list. Support from the Milton Keynes community will help them bring these children onto the programme to give them the support they need before their challenges escalate.
“We’re delighted that Ride High has been chosen as the charity for this month’s MKFM networking event,” said Olivia Sugdon, Ride High CEO.
“As a proud MKFM Principal Partner and member of the Milton Keynes community, we’re looking forward to a fantastic evening and to connecting with so many local businesses and supporters.”
MKFM’s ‘The Meet of MK’ gathers every month at an exciting Milton Keynes venue. This month’s event is on Thursday 31st July at The Italian Sul Lago, Furzton Lake. For more details or to book tickets, visit: www.mkfm.com/events/mkfms-meet-of-mk.
