It was a case of litter pickers, gloves, and bags at the ready for a group of proactive Brooklands residents who held a community litter pick to rid the area of rubbish.
The group took to the streets to remove waste from green spaces, pathways, and residential areas, making for a much more pleasant - and safer – environment for locals and visitors.
The clean up was organised with local Liberal Democrat campaigner Wing Tsang, Cllr Nana Ama Ofori-Atta and former Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Sam Crooks.
He said: “I’ve always believed that the strength of Milton Keynes lies in its people. What I saw today was exactly that, residents, families, and campaigners working together for the common good.
“It’s this spirit of action, collaboration, and care that makes our city special, and I know that with candidates like Wing and Nana, the ward will be in good hands for the future.”
Councillor Ofori-Atta added: “Community litter picks go beyond tidying up, it’s about bringing people together, building connections, and showing that we all have a part to play in caring for our neighbourhood.
"I’m proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with residents and fellow campaigners to make that happen.”
