Residents now have the chance to discover the Roman mosaic discovered during the archaeological excavation at Olney Park.

Earlier this year, archaeologists uncovered an ancient mosaic under land being prepared as part of plans for a new Aldi supermarket in the town of Olney.

Developers called in archaeologists after finding the ancient artwork flooring.

Oxford Archaeology called the mosaic "archaeological remains of high significance" with archaeologists believing that much of the ancient artworks extend under Warrington Road.

The mosaic has been preserved following consultations with Historic England and Milton Keynes Council and it has now been announced that tours will take place, allowing the public to see the Roman mosaic discovered for the first time.

Tours will be held once an hour throughout the day on Friday 22nd, Saturday 23rd and Monday 25th September 2023, will last approximately an hour and will be led by one of the archaeologists from Oxford Archaeology who undertook the excavations.

Tickets are free but must be booked in advance.
